In 1950 she was selected for her first film, Louisa, in which she met Ronald Reagan, with whom she established a good friendship. Shortly afterward she acted in her second film, this time with Tony Curtis, an actor with whom she would later make several more films. Laurie then made other films for Universal. Piper Laurie in 1957 received an interesting offer for a film, which led her back to the movies.
